Unlock Your Creativity with Word Art: A Guide to Customizing Your Mac with Stunning Text Designs
Are you tired of the same old boring text in your emails and documents? If so, it’s time to give your writing a unique and artistic touch with Word Art. In this article, we’ll show you how to unlock your creativity and transform your text designs on your Mac.
What is Word Art?
Word Art is a built-in feature that allows you to customize your text designs on your Mac using simple shapes and textures. With Word Art, you can add shadows, highlights, gradients, and more to make your texts stand out from the rest. This feature has been added in macOS Sierra as part of the natural language recognition enhancements for autocorrect.
How to Unlock Your Creativity with Word Art
Here are some steps on how you can use word art features:
Step 1: Download a Text Effect From an Image library
You can download various effects from an image library like Shutterstock or Adobe Stock by going into Apple’s App Store or searching for them online.
Step 2: Edit the Texture
Once downloaded, open the effect in Photoshop or another graphics editing software like GIMP or Adobe Illustrator. Adjust the texture settings until it matches what looks good in Windows Paint.
Step 3: Place the Text Effect Over Text Inside a Document
Open up any document where you want to apply the word art effect. Start by placing a frame around what should be drawn inside another area of that document. It doesn’t matter where it is but if possible start off where there’s blank space and not using too much contrast just yet when applying effects so other elements are easier.
Press Command + Spacebar > Auto Correct / Selective Search > New Document (Create new file). Use selective search feature here for only white areas until complete outline drawn inside file.
For words use white font color otherwise black will be used after editing select area.
Open up Photoshop if there is an option please select it first instead using black highlighter pencil tool manually as I’m showing steps above without highlighting manually.
Step 4: Create Shadow On Background
Next step is creating effect for shadow behind font design on background. This shadow creates depth against white backgrounds.
Add fill color then stroke color (black) with stroke tool (double click on draw button ). Drag outside corners into smaller details so edges become smoother .
Draw round shape at corners place shadow around frame by increasing brush size as required , blend shape using Brush blending options under Brushes menu before finalizing shapes . Make sure all edge lines aren’t straight then create mask visible by closing “All Edges” option at Brushes > Brush Styles > Style Settings within Paint Palette while still selecting Shape Tool .
To complete final effect try setting opacity slider at desired level . Then finally place text inside previously drawn shapes/edges . This way when selecting “Words” select specific boxes then add fonts . Press Command + C+ V paste selection , now close all files while drawing tools are still selected .
In other words if drawing over picture simply duplicate each piece , merge them back as layers than combine all layers once one single layer again save changes .
If trying free hand version without vectors no need edit anything just type “write” over any picture take advantage digital tools like zoomsize cut out unwanted parts paint colors blend techniques etc…..
Finally apply multiple times wordart effect depending required style preference choose from range few colors like bluewhite red dark brown yellow sky green etc…
And adjust color saturation till satisfied
And lastly move wordart object freely between frames until optimal placement according original design needs otherwise crop areas needed making it easier reading etc ….
WordArt offers numerous ways which might look complicated but through my example above I’ve explained few points starting basic then deeper ones which will enable user do advanced effects quicker resulting better results over time!
