Create Your Own Art with Apple’s Keynote Word Art Tool
Keynote is a powerful presentation software that allows users to create visually appealing and engaging content. One of the lesser-known features of Keynote is its word art tool, which allows you to create beautiful and unique designs using text. In this article, we will explore how to use Apple’s Keynote word art tool to create your own art.
Step 1: Open Keynote
To start using the word art tool in Keynote, open the software on your Mac. You will see the Keynote window with a blank canvas in the center.
Step 2: Insert Text
To insert text into your Keynote presentation, click and drag your mouse across the canvas to create a new box. Release your mouse button to place the text box wherever you want it on your canvas. You can also type directly into the text box by clicking and typing in the box.
Step 3: Choose Word Art Style
Once you have your text box inserted, select it by clicking on it or pressing Command + T (Mac) or Ctrl + T (Windows). From here, you can choose from a variety of pre-designed word art styles that are built into Keynote. To do this, click on the drop-down menu next to the “Text” toolbar in the top-left corner of the screen. From there, select “Word Art” and choose from a variety of options such as “Chain,” “Text Frame,” and “Text Styles.” You can also browse through some of Keynote’s built-in library of word art templates by scrolling through the options in the Word Art drop-down menu.
Step 4: Customize Word Art Style
Once you have selected a word art style, you can customize it to fit your needs by adjusting its settings. Click on any part of the word art style that appears as a thumbnail below the style name in the Word Art drop-down menu. From there, you can adjust various settings such as font, color, size, rotation angle, shadow depth, and more. You can preview your changes in real-time by clicking on any part of the style thumbnail again or using Preview (Command + D) when you’re satisfied with your design. When you’re done customizing your word art style, click “OK” or press Command + Enter to apply it to your text box. Repeat this step for any additional text boxes that you want to use with different styles.
Step 5: Preview Your Presentation
When you have completed creating your text boxes with word art styles, you can preview your presentation by clicking on any slide in Keynote’s timeline or selecting View > Presentation from the top menu bar. Your slides will automatically update with any new content that you added using the word art tool. You can also make further changes or adjustments to your presentation at any time by going back to each slide and making additional edits using other tools in Keynote such as dragging and dropping content onto slides or applying formatting options such as font sizes and colors.
