Word Art may have become a bit of an outdated concept, but the magic of word art is very much alive today. While Apple hardware and applications like Final Cut Pro and iMovie offer great tools for animating text or video in a more dramatic manner, there are also a number of ways to transform your Apple devices into one-of-a-kind works of art.
One simple trick you can perform with iMovie or Final Cut Pro is text layer animations. Here’s how:
Open up iMovie or Final Cut Pro and start with an empty timeline.
Add any number of animated layers. You’ll be able to change both the shape, position, size, as well as timing and duration with just a few taps on the screen.
Then just pick your text (or clip for that matter) layer.
Select Animation > Text Effects > Move Downwards / Up / Rightwards or Downwards/ Leftwards
Now this simply changes the placement, it doesn’t animate yet. But if you’re patient you can move it around slightly until your new style suits your purpose
Next take one piece at a time and either animate them yourself by changing their opacity from fully black through various grayscale shades towards lighter colors depending on where in word art animation you want the object
You could do other things like color fill animations where one object fills another depending on timing too etc.
If you want an effect not found within these tutorials then try adding filters via effects controls such as alpha blending between images etc.
Or if nothing else is working try taking screenshots! Yes screenshots work better than even live preview effects sometimes because they give us much clearer insight into how things look on our final project while Live Preview has limitations – e.g. not able to adjust sizes dynamically once created .
All in all there are plenty more ways out there; but what I’ve shown here should be enough inspiration for starters!
It all comes down to experimentation . Don’t stick rigidly with pre-determined processes! Keep exploring , experimenting ! That’s really what makes art creative !
