The word cloud is a visual representation of the most frequently occurring words in a text. It can be used for various purposes such as understanding the opinions and attitudes of people towards a topic, identifying important keywords in websites and documents, and more.
In this article, we will explore the basics of creating word clouds on Mac using several popular tools available in the Mac App Store.
Step 1: Choose a Tool
There are several free and paid options to create word clouds on Mac. Some popular ones include:
-
Adobe Spark – This is a user-friendly tool that allows you to create professional-looking word clouds with ease. You can choose from different templates or create your own design.
-
Canva – This tool offers templates and customization options to create visually appealing word clouds. It also supports various social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.
-
Wordle – This is an excellent option if you want to play with words rather than designing an actual word cloud. Wordle allows you to generate custom-sized word clouds of up to 6 letters by simply typing any combination of words.
-
Google Fonts – You can also use your own custom fonts by searching for “word cloud font” in Google Fonts.
Step 2: Choose Your Template
Once you have selected your tool, it’s time to choose a template that best suits your needs.
– Adobe Spark offers a variety of templates that are suitable for various purposes such as school projects, business reports, or personal blogs.
– Canva offers pre-made templates but also supports custom design which is perfect if you want to make your own designs.
– Wordle offers built-in templates but also allows users to customize their designs by adding their text box.
Step 3: Add Your Text
Once you have chosen your template, it’s time to add your text! Here’s how:
- In Adobe Spark: Click on “Create A New Project,” select “Text,” enter the text into the space provided (you can customize the font size), adjust its style (bold font etc.), and then select “Color” option from the toolbar.
2.Canva: Click on “Design” tab then select “Text.” Add text into box provided under Text area where it says “TEXT,” click on its icon (the one pointing down) under Text area where it says “STYLE”, adjust its size(adjustable), color(available from color palette), etc.
3.Wordle: Just copy-paste or paste any sentence that contains words related to what kind of business/website/blog/news paper/report/article etc., enter these sentences into field provided under TEXT box (“Enter text here”).
Step 4: Preview & Download
Once you are happy with the layout, preview what you have created using all available tools and features before saving any file format(e.g PDF/A CSV).
If all looks good press Enter after selecting PDF/A option (both print preview window).
Step 5: Share Your Word Clouds
After creating something impressive do not forget share them with people around! You can email them directly or via social media networks like Twitter/LinkedIn/Github which allow sharing easily.
Conclusion:
Creating a Word Cloud is an easy process which does not require too much effort especially when there are several tools available online! With just one click away from generating stunning graphics based on content analysis – creating beautiful visuals has never been easier!
